Update
Angie Velasco
On October 27 I boarded a plane from Mexico
City to Chicago
for medical consultations. Five months after I was infected with
salmonella (the bacteria for typhoid fever), I
continued to have symptoms and my physician in Cuernavaca thought
I had the resistant strain. I have an appointment with my longtime
internist in Chicago
this week and with an infectious disease doctor next week.
Interestingly, the week before I left Cuernavaca, I found myself crying every night,
not because of my illness but because I will miss all the friends I have made
in Cuernavaca.
A few folks gave a a farewll party and each time I said good-bye I cried.
Many people did not want me to leave but understood also that I need to look
after my health. I will be back in Mexico as soon as the doctors give
me the medical clearance to return.
The Lord certainly has grown my love for the Mexican people
compared to three years ago when I first arrived in Mexico.
I would appreciate your prayers for wisdom for the doctors
handling my care and for my body to respond to all the treatment.
Thank you for your love, prayers and support.
